Black History Month Workshop

We had a fabulous workshop this morning with Michael and Carla.
We sang lots of songs and learned all about how black history shaped music.

Forest School Rocks!

I have to admit to being a little apprehensive knowing we had Forest School all morning on Tuesday!  I’m a fair weather girl you see, don’t get me wrong, I love the outdoors, but when it’s sunny and warm!!

Whilst sorting my warm clothes, waterproofs and wellies Monday night Mrs Blackhurst dropped the bombshell “You might want want some rubber gloves tomorrow, you’re making bird feeders with lard, it’ll be lovely in your nails” I was convinced she was trying to finish me off (I love my nails!?)

Well, the irony is, that after all my after apprehensions and worrying about being wet and cold, what an absolutely fantastic morning we all had!  I love outdoor learning and observing the children in an environment other than the classroom, I’m sure Miss Fraser would agree!  They were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities Mrs Blackhurst had planned and set up for us, especially the hot chocolate and marshmallows!

I can’t wait to do it all again next week with Year 5 Hall!

Forest School definitely rocks and so does Mrs Blackhurst! 🙂
