Forest School Rocks!

I have to admit to being a little apprehensive knowing we had Forest School all morning on Tuesday!  I’m a fair weather girl you see, don’t get me wrong, I love the outdoors, but when it’s sunny and warm!!

Whilst sorting my warm clothes, waterproofs and wellies Monday night Mrs Blackhurst dropped the bombshell “You might want want some rubber gloves tomorrow, you’re making bird feeders with lard, it’ll be lovely in your nails” I was convinced she was trying to finish me off (I love my nails!?)

Well, the irony is, that after all my after apprehensions and worrying about being wet and cold, what an absolutely fantastic morning we all had!  I love outdoor learning and observing the children in an environment other than the classroom, I’m sure Miss Fraser would agree!  They were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities Mrs Blackhurst had planned and set up for us, especially the hot chocolate and marshmallows!

I can’t wait to do it all again next week with Year 5 Hall!

Forest School definitely rocks and so does Mrs Blackhurst! 🙂

  1. Haha! I’m so pleased you enjoyed your morning!

Once all the shelters had been put up, the fun could begin! The children (and adults! ) were brilliant! There was such a lovely, busy vibe, I had to make time to just be … and observe. To watch everyone get ‘stuck in’ and be on ‘task’ was an absolute pleasure!

So next time Mrs. Atkin …. Rain or shine … Forest School is fun! ☀️

  2. I really enjoyed the whole class coming out onto the field.
My favourite activity was miss Akins activity because we got all messy and dirty when we put are hands in the grub. I still really enjoyed the other activity and enjoyed the game we played.
